Rocket Micro Freire Pro 30.5″ Downhill/Freeride Longboard Deck
In 2017 we introduced the first Ian Freire pro model. This year we have completely revised the board together with Ian. The original board came in two widths. But Ian isn’t just one of the world’s best freeriders, he’s also extremely fast. So this time we went one step further and gave him two boards with similar features but in 2 different sizes. The Macro and the Micro: a single kick freerider and a small modern race board.
The boards are not built with our LAF technology anymore but thanks to a hollow core they are still lighter than most comparable boards on the market. The hybrid construction made of carbon, flax, and glass fibers ensures a very direct, yet smooth riding experience.
The Micro is a very modern race board, with features similar to the Macro and the original Ian Freire Pro, just compressed to a smaller size. It has a symmetrical foot platform with wide wheel well flares, a steeper concave in the center of the board, and a continuous rocker. This board is the least restrictive of our mini boards and so fills a gap in our lineup. It gives you the reference points you need without limiting your stance. It’s also our only mini board without a W concave.
Why no more LAF technology? Unfortunately, this construction was too time-consuming for a small company like us. We also produced far too many factory seconds. That’s why we made the decision to switch. The new construction is still light, stiff, and very durable. At the same time, however, it is more comfortable to ride.
Although we have always enjoyed LAF technology, we are happy that we can now build you a board that rides even better.
